How to Reset Your Minecraft Server

Want to start over with a fresh world or remove all previous content? This guide shows you how to correctly reset your Minecraft server through the control panel.

What does it mean to reset the server?

When you reset your server, the current world and any player data records are deleted. This is useful if you want:

A completely new world
To clean up after major changes or errors
To start a new season or game round

Step by step: Reset your server

1. Stop the server

Stop the server from the control panel to avoid data corruption during the reset.

2. Delete the relevant files

Go to "Files" in the control panel or connect via FTP
Delete the following folders:
- world
- world_nether
- world_the_end
- Any other worlds if you have several (for example, from plugins or mods)
If you want to reset player data, you can also delete the playerdata and advancements folders inside the world folder

Note: If you use mods or datapacks, check that you do not accidentally delete necessary files.

3. Start the server again

Once the old files are deleted, the server automatically starts generating a new world.

Extra: Use a new seed

If you want a specific world, you can enter a new seed in the server's configuration file (server.properties) before you start it again.

Important notes

Always take a backup before resetting if you might want to restore later
Deletion is permanent, be sure of your choices
If you use plugins like Multiverse, you also need to reset worlds via commands
