Getting Started with Your Satisfactory Server

This guide walks you through setting up your Satisfactory dedicated server, claiming it, and connecting with friends for the first time.

Prerequisites

• An active Satisfactory server from SpillHosting
• Satisfactory installed on your PC via Steam or Epic Games
• Your server IP address and port, which you find in the game panel

Step 1: Start your server

1. Log in on the SpillHosting website with your SpillHosting account
2. Open the game panel and select your Satisfactory server
3. Copy the server address from the Overview tab
4. Press Start in the server header and follow the boot in the Console tab

The first start takes longer while the server downloads its files.

The Startup tab holds Max Players (default 4) and Number of Rotating Autosaves (default 3). Each field saves on its own and applies on the next start.

Step 2: Add the server in game

1. Launch Satisfactory
2. Open the Server Manager from the main menu
3. Click Add Server
4. Enter your server IP and the port from the panel, for example 203.0.113.10 and 25700
5. Click Confirm

Step 3: Claim your server

The first time you connect, you claim the server:

1. Select the server in the Server Manager
2. Give your server a Name
3. Set an Admin Password. It gives full control over the server
4. Confirm to finish claiming

Important: Keep your admin password safe. You need it to manage the server.

Step 4: Create or load a game

After claiming:

1. Choose Create Game to start a new world
2. Enter a session name and choose your starting location
3. Create the game and wait for the world to generate

Or, to continue an existing save, upload it from the Server Manager and load it there.

Step 5: Join the game

1. Once the game is running, click Join Game in the Server Manager
2. You load into the world
3. Share the server address with your friends so they can add it in their own Server Manager

Managing your server

Saving

• The server autosaves at regular intervals
• You can save manually from the Server Manager
• Save before stopping the server

Server settings

In the Server Manager you can change the server name, the admin password, a password for players, the autosave interval and more.

By default the server pauses the game when nobody is online, so the factory only runs while someone is playing. You can change this with the auto pause setting.

Troubleshooting

Server not appearing

• Make sure you entered the correct IP and port
• Check that the server has fully started in the panel
• Restart the server if it was just updated

Connection refused

• Check in the console that the server is running
• Use the port shown in the panel. Your server does not necessarily run on Satisfactory's default port 7777
• Check that the server has finished loading completely

Poor performance

• Large factories with many machines can cause lag
• Consider upgrading your server plan for more RAM
• Spread production across different areas of the map
