Getting Started with Your Satisfactory Server
This guide walks you through setting up your Satisfactory dedicated server, claiming it, and connecting with friends for the first time.
Prerequisites
- An active Satisfactory server from SpillHosting
- Satisfactory installed on your PC via Steam or Epic Games
- Your server IP address and port from the control panel
Step 1: Start Your Server
- Go to panel.spillhosting.no
- Select your Satisfactory server
- Navigate to the Console tab
- Click Start and wait for the server to fully initialize
The first start takes longer as the server downloads required files and sets up the world.
Step 2: Connect to Your Server
- Launch Satisfactory
- Go to Server Manager from the main menu
- Click Add Server
- Enter your server IP and port (e.g.,
123.456.78.90:7777) - Click Confirm
Step 3: Claim Your Server
When connecting for the first time, you need to claim the server:
- After adding the server, select it in the Server Manager
- You'll be prompted to Claim Server
- Set an Admin Password — this gives you full control
- Give your server a Name
- Click Claim Server
Important: Keep your admin password safe. You'll need it to manage the server.
Step 4: Create or Load a Game
After claiming:
- Click Create Game to start a new world
- Choose your starting location on the map
- Select your session name
- Click Create and wait for the world to generate
Or if loading an existing save:
- Click Load Game instead
- Select your save file
- Wait for the world to load
Step 5: Join the Game
- Once the game is running, click Join Game in the Server Manager
- You'll load into the world
- Share the server IP with friends so they can connect too
Managing Your Server
Saving
- The server auto-saves at regular intervals
- Use the Server Manager to trigger manual saves
- Always save before shutting down
Server Settings
Access server settings through the Server Manager:
- Session Name — Change the displayed name
- Auto Save Interval — Adjust how often the server saves
- Network Quality — Set based on your server's connection
Troubleshooting
Server Not Appearing
- Make sure you're entering the correct IP and port
- Check that the server is fully started in the control panel
- Try restarting the server if it was recently updated
Connection Refused
- Verify the server is running in the console
- Ensure you're using port
7777(default game port) - Check if the server finished loading completely
Poor Performance
- Large factories with many machines can cause lag
- Consider upgrading your server plan for more RAM
- Spread production across different areas of the map
