How to Use Teleport Commands in Minecraft
Teleporting is a powerful feature in Minecraft that lets you move yourself or other players to specific coordinates or to each other. This guide shows you how to use teleport commands correctly.
The commands only work if you have permissions (for example, you are OP on the server or playing in singleplayer with cheats enabled).
Basic Teleport Command
/tp <target>
Examples:
/tp Player1
Moves you to the player Player1.
/tp Player1 Player2
Moves Player1 to Player2's position.
/tp 100 64 200
Moves you to the coordinates X:100, Y:64, Z:200.
Advanced Examples
/tp ~ ~10 ~
Moves you 10 blocks upward from your current position.
/tp 100 64 200 180 45
Teleport to X:100, Y:64, Z:200 with a facing of yaw 180 and pitch 45.
/tp @a Player1
Moves all players to Player1.
Using Selector Tags
- @p: nearest player
- @a: all players
- @r: random player
- @s: yourself (the command sender)
Example:
/tp @p 0 80 0
Moves the nearest player to the coordinates X:0, Y:80, Z:0.
Important Notes
- Make sure to enter commands correctly. Small mistakes can cause error messages.
- In multiplayer the commands normally require OP privileges or appropriate permissions through plugins.
- In Creative mode or singleplayer with cheats, all teleport commands are available.
