Getting Started with Your Palworld Server

This guide covers everything you need to set up your Palworld dedicated server and start playing with friends.

Prerequisites

  • An active Palworld server from SpillHosting
  • Palworld installed on your PC via Steam
  • Your server IP address and port from the control panel

Step 1: Access the Control Panel

  1. Go to panel.spillhosting.no
  2. Log in with your SpillHosting credentials
  3. Select your Palworld server from the server list

Step 2: Configure Your Server

  1. Navigate to the Startup tab
  2. Set your Server Name and Server Description
  3. Set an Admin Password — you'll use this for in-game server management
  4. Set a Server Password if you want to restrict access
  5. Configure Max Players (default: 32)
  6. Click Save

Step 3: Start the Server

  1. Go to the Console tab
  2. Click Start
  3. Wait for the server to finish initializing — the first boot takes longer as it generates the world

The server is ready when you see the message indicating it's listening for connections.

Step 4: Connect to Your Server

  1. Launch Palworld
  2. Select Join Multiplayer Game
  3. At the bottom of the server list, find the Connect field
  4. Enter your server IP and port (e.g., 123.456.78.90:8211)
  5. Click Connect
  6. Enter the server password if one is set

Step 5: Set Yourself as Admin

Once connected to the server:

  1. Open the chat with Enter
  2. Type /AdminPassword YourAdminPassword
  3. You now have admin privileges for the session

Troubleshooting

Can't Find Server in Browser

  • Use direct IP connect instead of the server browser
  • Ensure the server has fully started
  • Check that your server port is correct (default: 8211)

Connection Timeout

  • Verify the server is running in the console
  • Double-check the IP address and port
  • Ensure you're using the correct password

Server Lag

  • Check if the server has enough RAM allocated
  • Reduce max player count if needed
  • Consider adjusting spawn rates in the server settings
