Getting Started with Your Palworld Server
This guide covers everything you need to set up your Palworld dedicated server and start playing with friends.
Prerequisites
- An active Palworld server from SpillHosting
- Palworld installed on your PC via Steam
- Your server address, which you find in the game panel
Step 1: Open your server
- Log in on the SpillHosting website with your SpillHosting account
- Open the game panel and select your Palworld server
- The Overview tab shows your server address as
IP:port, with a copy button
Step 2: Configure your server
- Open the Startup tab
- Set your Server Name and Server Description
- Change the Admin Password. You use it in game to unlock the admin commands, so replace the default with your own
- Set a Server Password if you want to restrict access. Leave it empty for an open server
- Set Max Players (1 to 32, default 32)
Each field saves on its own as soon as you change it, and takes effect on the next start. Gameplay settings such as experience rate, day length and death penalty are on the Config tab.
Step 3: Start the server
- Press Start in the server header
- Open the Console tab and wait for the server to finish booting. The first boot takes longer while the server sets up its files and world
Step 4: Connect to your server
- Launch Palworld
- Select Join Multiplayer Game
- At the bottom of the server list, find the address field
- Enter your server address from the panel, for example
203.0.113.10:25700 - Click Connect
- Enter the server password if one is set
Step 5: Make yourself admin
Once connected to the server:
- Open the chat with Enter
- Type
/AdminPassword YourAdminPassword - You now have admin privileges for the session

Troubleshooting
Can't find the server in the browser
- Connect with the address instead of searching the server browser
- Make sure the server has fully started
- Use the port shown in the panel. Your server does not necessarily run on Palworld's default port 8211
Connection timeout
- Check that the server is running in the console
- Double-check the address and port
- Make sure you are using the correct password
Server lag
- Check that the server has enough RAM for your player count
- Reduce the max player count if needed
- Consider lowering spawn rates on the Config tab
